Hotel Congress Wedding Photography

I am in love with the Hotel Congress Wedding that I was so fortunate to be a part of!!  I was actually the second shooter at this wedding--which means I was with the guys when they got ready down in the bar at Hotel Congress while the lead photographer stayed with the bride.  While the lead photographer gets all of the needed shots of the day, a second shooter gets to focus more on creative angles and capturing moments in different ways.  This small, intimate vow renewal was such a fun time and the people were great to spend the day with!!

Why am I second shooting??  I like to tell people that I am a professional first and I recognize the value of education.  I was contacted by a couple that booked me for their May 2018 wedding at Hotel Congress--like a good, educated consumer, they had a lot of questions including whether I'd ever photographed a wedding there.  Since I hadn't, I reached out to my local community of photographers--Tucson really has the most amazing photography community!--and was invited to come along to assist another wedding back in December, and to second shoot this wedding!!

Having the experience at new venues second shooting is priceless. Through experiences like this, I get to learn about new venues, learn new tips and tricks from other photographers, and get more and more practice with wedding photography!  When I second shoot, (and anytime I shoot) I review my work after the fact and try to learn something new from every wedding day!

These are my favorite details from this amazing Hotel Congress wedding day!

I would love to chat with you in person--my faves are coffee shops and happy hour spots in downtown Tucson or University area!  I know that many people are super busy so phone calls, facetime and email works great for wedding photography consultations as well!!

Kingan Gardens Valentines Day Inspired Wedding

Roses are Red, and sometimes pink . . . for some reason in February, Valentines day is hard not to think!  Ok, so I'm not a poet, but a photographer.  In all reality though, as soon as February rolls around, it seems that all I can think about is valentines day, hearts & love.  Isn't this beautiful Valentine's Day inspired wedding shoot from Kingan Gardens just so cute?  This little project was a collaboration between myself and a few other wedding photographers and creative professionals!!

My friend Sarah from Glitter and Pearl Florist wanted to put together a shoot showing her new Valentines day florals.  I wanted to do a fun Valentine themed shoot so we got together, contacted some other Tucson Wedding Vendors (including the gorgeous model who is my friend and mentor in the photography community!), and put together an afternoon photoshoot.  We invited a few friends and rotated between this mock wedding and a cute engagement shoot in downtown Tucson.

The model, Tina, and her husband were celebrating their 10 year anniversary this year, so it was the perfect time for an anniversary shoot!! Kingan Gardens is the most beautiful, intimate wedding venue in the heart of downtown Tucson and the perfect place for the florals Sarah designed!!  I think the beautiful vintage couch rental was my favorite part.  Love and Lace furniture rental was kind enough to let us borrow the piece for the afternoon! Heather Van Houten donated her time to make our model look even more gorgeous (and Tina wore the makeup overnight for our second shoot atop Mt. Lemmon so I can ATTEST to the greatness that is HVH Hair & Makeup!!

We were so luck to have such an amazing team of Tucson wedding vendors for this beautiful wedding photo shoot at Kingan Gardens!
